We live in a sensational time where Las Vegas information related sites are abundantly attainable. A search for Las Vegas information will find city maps, the history of this remarkable city, and the many things you can do in Las Vegas other than gambling. There are an abundant and interesting list of attractions around the city, and a mind boggling array of Las Vegas Special Deals.

Las Vegas is known for many things, but finding the Cheapest Las Vegas Packages is probably the most popular. Coupons are available for just about anything you can think of in Las Vegas and are given out at every hotel and casino, just about every retail business, on the internet, and from hawkers on the streets passing them out 24-7.

Las Vegas is the largest city in Nevada, and growing at a remarkable pace each year. The city is often referred to as Sin City due to the existence of gambling, serving alcoholic beverages 24 hours per day, and the abundance of adult entertainment available. Prostitution is not legal in the City of Las Vegas, but is legal in some nearby counties.

While many may refer to Las Vegas as sin city, the local tourist promoters prefer to call it The Entertainment Capital of the World. The City is a favorite setting for many movie and television companies, and has a very glamorous reputation. The quality of entertainment available is unequaled in any other city its size, making Las Vegas a favorite vacation spot for many celebrities.

What is commonly referred to as Las Vegas is really a combination of the City of Las Vegas, which is commonly known as the downtown area, and a 6 to 8 mile stretch of Las Vegas Boulevard which is mostly outside the Las Vegas city limit, known as the Las Vegas Strip.

Las Vegas started its rapid growth in 1931 when work started on the building of Hoover Dam. Its population grew from 5,000 residents to 25,000 with many newcomers looking for work on the Dam. Gambling was legalized in 1931 and Las Vegas began its rise to become the gambling capital of the world. The city issued its first gaming license in 1931 to the Northern Club, and with the abundant electricity now available from Hoover Dam, Fremont Street became known as Glitter Gulch.

Las Vegas has a dry climate with very little rainfall. Winters are a bit cool and windy and you can expect high temperatures in the summer months. (Highs of 105 degrees F are common from May to September). Las Vegas gets an average of 4.2 inches of rain per year. The mountains surrounding Las Vegas do get snow during the winter months; however it rarely snows in Las Vegas itself.

From the Stratosphere to Mandalay Bay the Las Vegas strip is the heart of Las Vegas. Along this dazzling strip you will discover all the glamour and action that is Las Vegas. World famous hotels and casinos such as the Flamingo, Paris, Bellagio, and Caesars Palace all within walking distance of each other.

If you venture north you can visit the New Frontier, Westward Ho, Circus Circus, and the world famous Riviera Hotel and Casino. South of the city on Las Vegas Boulevard is where the MGM Grand, the Luxor, New York New York, and the Excalibur can be found. Away from the strip are a never ending array of casinos, hotels and fabulous restaurants to discover, and don’t forget downtown Las Vegas where a dazzling overhead light show will astound you.

Currently, there are a greater number of Las Vegas Specials sites on the internet than ever before, and it is essential that you track down the best resources available if you’re looking for the most current information.

My fascination with Las Vegas hotel rooms began way back in 2005. I’m an avid reader of a website known as FatWallet and one of their longest running posts is something called Las Vegas hotel tipping a.k.a. the $20 trick.

The $20 trip, is a way of providing your hotel reservation clerk in advance gratuity. What the events virtually does is it tells them that you are a good loyal customer. Most the time they will reward you generously $20 sandwich.

I eagerly try this in 2005 I stayed at the Palms Hotel. I went there in the middle of the week, and the hotel had a relatively low occupancy rate at that time. The $20 trick worked like a charm, and I was blessed with the penthouse suite located right below Rain nightclub.

This suite was featured on the travel Channel as one of the top 10 best hotel suites in Las Vegas. At the same time, however it can be quite depressing when you know that the hotel room you are staying in is nicer than your home.

If you’re interested in doing the $20 dollar trick, the first thing you’ll need to do is reserve an actual Las Vegas hotel room. There many different ways to this, from calling direct, to direct booking, to making reservations on the website.

If you are willing to take a gamble, I suggest you use an opaque reservation site such as hotwire or Priceline.com. The only downside is that you may not know what hotel you’re going to be staying in until after the room is paid for. As long as you don’t mind that small gamble, you’ll be fine. What they do is they let you choose the star level, and also how much you’re willing to spend per night. Based on this amount they will tell you which hotel you will be on the up in. There is one trick however you can go to a website called better travel bidding so that you can actually see what other people paid and where they ended up staying.

Once you have your hotel set you’ll need to prepare for the actual check-in reservation process. What you will do as you will make something known as a $20 sandwich. $20 sandwich is simply a sandwich which is comprised of your credit card and driver’s license and a $20 bill folded in between. For greater effect, you can even use a clear credit card such as the American express. This lets them clearly see the gratuity while letting you be discreet.
